New York High School Basketball - Rye Country Day falls to Holy Child

(February 11, 2008: Rye, NY 10580) The Holy Child Gryphons basketball team scored 29 points and held the visiting Rye Country Day Wildcats to 20 in the Gryphons league triumph on Monday.

The Gryphons now sport a 19-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Staten Island Academy for a non-league contest on Thursday, February 14. Holy Child will meet a Tigers team coming off a 45-40 non-league win over Packer Collegiate Institute (Brooklyn, NY). The Tigers record now stands at 13-4.

The Wildcats (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Nightingale-Bamford (New York, NY). The Nighthawks enter the non-league contest with a 2-2 record. In their last contest, Nightingale-Bamford was defeated by Holy Child (Rye, NY), 60-41, in a non-league contest.
