New York High School Football - Iona Prep can't get by Chaminade

(October 15, 2006: Mineola, NY 11501) The Chaminade Flyers football squad scored 20 points and limited the visiting Iona Prep Gaels to 17 in the Flyers league victory on Sunday.

With the victory, Chaminade advances its record to 5-1 on the year. The Flyers travel to Holy Trinity (Hicksville, NY) to battle the Titans in a Catholic AAA battle on Saturday, October 21. The Titans come into the battle with a record of 4-2. Holy Trinity lost 34-6 in their recent league battle against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea (Staten Island, NY)

Next, the Gaels battle the Mt. St. Michael Academy Mountaineers (Bronx, NY) in a Catholic AAA battle, on Saturday, October 21. Iona Prep will attempt to advance on its 3-3 season record. The Mountaineers come into the battle with a 4-2 record after their 34-27 league loss to St. Anthony's (Melville, NY).
