New York High School Football - Xaverian topped by Iona Prep

(September 28, 2007: Brooklyn, NY 11209) The Xaverian Clippers football team (Brooklyn, NY), was beaten 31-21 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Iona Prep Gaels (New Rochelle, NY)

The Gaels (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Mt. St. Michael Academy (Bronx, NY). The Mountaineers come into the Catholic AAA challenge with a 2-2 record. In their last challenge, Mt. St. Michael Academy was beaten by St. Joseph-by-the-Sea (Staten Island, NY), 15-12, in a league challenge.

The Clippers now sport a 0-4 record. They take the field next when they host St. Anthony's for a Catholic AAA challenge on Saturday, October 6. Xaverian will meet a Friars team coming off a 42-30 league win over Monsignor Farrell (Staten Island, NY). The Friars record now stands at 3-1.
