(September 13, 2008: White Plains, NY 10605) The crowd at Saturday's non-league contest between the Iona Prep Gaels (New Rochelle, NY) and the host Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders (White Plains, NY), observed Iona Prep's football squad defeat Archbishop Stepinac by a count of 35-20.

The Gaels now own a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Chaminade for a Catholic AAA contest on Saturday, September 20. Iona Prep will play a Flyers squad coming off a 14-7 league win over Mt. St. Michael Academy (Bronx, NY). The Flyers record now stands at 2-0.

Coming up next, the Crusaders play the St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings (Staten Island, NY) in a Catholic AAA contest, on Saturday, September 20. Archbishop Stepinac will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Vikings go into the contest with a 1-0 record after their 29-7 non-league win over Hudson Catholic (Jersey City, NJ).
