New York High School Football - Holy Cross loses to Iona Prep

(October 7, 2006: New Rochelle, NY 10804) The Iona Prep Gaels football squad scored 42 points and limited the visiting Holy Cross Knights to 20 in the Gaels league victory on Saturday.

With the victory, Iona Prep upgrades its record to 3-2 on the year. The Gaels travel to Chaminade (Mineola, NY) to battle the Flyers in a Catholic AAA battle on Sunday, October 15. The Flyers come into the battle with a record of 4-1. Chaminade won 21-20 in their recent league battle against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea (Staten Island, NY)

Next, the Knights battle the Monsignor Farrell Lions (Staten Island, NY) in a Catholic AAA battle, on Sunday, October 15. Holy Cross will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Lions come into the battle with a 1-4 record after their 28-6 league loss to Mt. St. Michael Academy (Bronx, NY).
