New York High School Football - Iona Prep knocks off Chaminade

(September 20, 2008: Mineola, NY 11501) The Iona Prep Gaels football squad scored 41 points and limited the host Chaminade Flyers to 28 in the Gaels league win on Saturday.

The Gaels now possess a 2-0 record. They play next when they travel to Holy Cross for a non-league battle on Saturday, September 27. Iona Prep will play a Knights squad coming off a 12-0 non-league win over Monsignor Farrell (Staten Island, NY). The Knights record now stands at 1-2.

Coming up next, the Flyers play the Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders (White Plains, NY) in a Catholic AAA battle, on Saturday, September 27. Chaminade will attempt to advance on its 2-1 season record. The Crusaders go into the battle with a 1-2 record after their 31-21 league loss to St. Joseph-by-the-Sea (Staten Island, NY).
