(October 5, 2008: New Rochelle, NY 10804) The crowd at Sunday's league contest between the Iona Prep Gaels (New Rochelle, NY) and the visiting Xaverian Clippers (Brooklyn, NY), observed Iona Prep's football squad defeat Xaverian by a count of 35-21.

The Gaels now own a 4-0 record. They play next when they travel to Monsignor Farrell for a Catholic AAA contest on Saturday, October 11. Iona Prep will play a Lions squad coming off a 41-27 league loss to St. Anthony's (Melville, NY). The Lions record now stands at 1-4.

Coming up next, the Clippers play the Fordham Prep Rams (Bronx, NY) in a Catholic AA-A contest, on Saturday, October 11. Xaverian will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Rams go into the contest with a 2-3 record after their 20-13 league loss to Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, NY).
