New York High School Basketball - Briarcliff edges Archbishop Stepinac

(December 29, 2007: Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510) The Briarcliff Bears (Briarcliff Manor, NY) basketball nipped the visiting Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders (White Plains, NY), 88-86 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Bears (6-2) will now prepare for their test against Westlake (Thornwood, NY). The Wildcats go into the Section 1 III - A test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Westlake got by Croton-Harmon (Croton on Hudson, NY), 69-61, in a league test.

The Crusaders now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cardinal Hayes for a Catholic A - North test on Friday, January 4. Archbishop Stepinac will clash with a Cardinals squad coming off a 68-64 non-league loss to St. Peter's (Staten Island, NY). The Cardinals record now stands at 6-4.
