New York High School Football - Archbishop Stepinac crushed by Iona Prep

(September 9, 2006: White Plains, NY 10605) The Iona Prep Gaels walloped the host Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders football squad by a final score of 54-21 in Saturday's non-league outing.

The Gaels now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Joseph-by-the-Sea for a Catholic AAA outing on Saturday, September 16. Iona Prep will confront a Vikings squad coming off a 35-7 non-league win over Warwick (Warwick, NY). The Vikings record now stands at 1-0.

With the defeat, Archbishop Stepinac moves to 0-1 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to Xaverian (Brooklyn, NY) to clash with the Clippers in a Catholic AA challenge on Sunday, September 17. The Clippers go into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Xaverian lost 7-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Monsignor Farrell (Staten Island, NY)
