New York High School Basketball - Iona Prep edges Archbishop Stepinac

(February 8, 2008: White Plains, NY 10605) The Iona Prep Gaels (New Rochelle, NY) basketball nipped the host Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders (White Plains, NY), 58-53 in Friday's league test.

The Gaels (19-2) will now prepare for their test against Mt. St. Michael Academy (Bronx, NY). The Mountaineers go into the Catholic A - North test with a 9-10 record.

The Crusaders now own a 13-8 record. They take the field next when they host Briarcliff for a non-league test on Sunday, February 10. Archbishop Stepinac will clash with a Bears squad coming off a 75-36 league win over Putnam Valley (Putnam Valley, NY). The Bears record now stands at 16-3.
