New York High School Football - Iona Prep tipped by St. Anthony's

(September 23, 2006: New Rochelle, NY 10804) The St. Anthony's Friars held off the host Iona Prep Gaels football squad by a final score of 20-14 in Saturday's league outing.

The Friars now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Joseph-by-the-Sea for a Catholic AAA outing on Saturday, September 30. St. Anthony's will confront a Vikings squad coming off a 28-21 league win over Monsignor Farrell (Staten Island, NY). The Vikings record now stands at 2-1.

With the defeat, Iona Prep moves to 2-1 on the campaign. The Gaels host Holy Trinity (Hicksville, NY) to confront the Titans in a Catholic AAA outing on Saturday, September 30. The Titans go into the outing with a record of 3-0. Holy Trinity won 21-7 in their recent league outing against Mt. St. Michael Academy (Bronx, NY)
