New York High School Basketball - New Rochelle ripped by Mt. Vernon

(January 31, 2008: Mt. Vernon, NY 10552) The Mt. Vernon Knights basketball team scored 88 points and held the visiting New Rochelle Huguenots to 66 in the Knights league triumph on Thursday.

The Knights now sport a 13-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Long Island Lutheran for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 2. Mt. Vernon will meet a Crusaders team coming off a 91-61 non-league win over All Hallows (Bronx, NY). The Crusaders record now stands at 15-3.

Next up, the Huguenots play the Poughkeepsie Pioneers (Poughkeepsie, NY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 2. New Rochelle will attempt to upgrade on its 12-4 season record. The Pioneers come into the bout with a 11-3 record after their 77-52 league win over Our Lady of Lourdes (Poughkeepsie, NY).
