New Jersey High School Basketball - Mt. Vernon nipped by Linden

(January 26, 2008: Linden, NJ 07036) In Saturday's non-league match, the host Linden Tigers basketball team scored a tight 60-53 triumph over the Mt. Vernon Knights.

In their next game, the Tigers face the Shabazz Bulldogs (Newark, NJ) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, January 29. Linden will attempt to move on its 15-2 season record. The Bulldogs enter the match with a 7-7 record after their 56-49 non-league win over Schechter (West Orange, NJ).

With the defeat, Mt. Vernon moves to 11-3 on the year. The Knights host White Plains (White Plains, NY) to face the Tigers in a Section 1 I - A match on Tuesday, January 29. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 11-5. White Plains won 72-60 in their recent non-league match against Williamsport (Williamsport, PA)
