New York High School Basketball - Gorton holds off North Rockland

(December 19, 2007: Thiells, NY 10984) Gorton Wolves (Yonkers, NY) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host North Rockland Raiders (Thiells, NY), 55-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gorton upgrades its record to 4-4 on the season. The Wolves travel to Ramapo (Spring Valley, NY) to play the Gryphons in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 20. The Gryphons go into the bout with a record of 1-5. Ramapo lost 79-47 in their recent non-league bout against Middletown (Middletown, NY)

Next up, the Raiders play the North Salem Tigers (North Salem, NY) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 21. North Rockland will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 88-81 non-league win over Nanuet (Nanuet, NY).
