New York High School Volleyball - Lakeland over Somers

(October 14, 2008: Shrub Oak, NY 10588) In Tuesday's league contest, the Lakeland Hornets (Shrub Oak, NY) volleyball squad knocked off the visiting Somers Tuskers (Lincolndale, NY), by a margin of 3-0.

Next up, the Hornets battle the Yorktown Huskers (Yorktown Heights, NY) in a Section 1 Class A - League B contest, on Monday, October 20. Lakeland will attempt to better on its 13-1 season record. The Huskers come into the contest with a 10-6 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Peekskill (Peekskill, NY).

With the loss, Somers drops to 3-10 on the campaign. The Tuskers host Greeley (Chappaqua, NY) to battle the Quakers in a Section 1 Class A - League B contest on Thursday, October 16. The Quakers come into the contest with a record of 3-9. Greeley lost 3-0 in their recent league contest against Fox Lane (Bedford, NY)
