New York High School Basketball - Greeley edges Pearl River

(December 28, 2007: Chappaqua, NY 10514) The Greeley Quakers (Chappaqua, NY) basketball nipped the visiting Pearl River Pirates (Pearl River, NY), 63-57 in Friday's non-league test.

The Quakers (7-0) will now prepare for their test against Smithtown West (Smithtown, NY). The enter the non-league match with a 6-1 record. In their last match, Smithtown West nudged Eastport-South Manor (Eastport, NY), 67-40, in a non-league match.

With the defeat, Pearl River moves to 4-2 on the year. The Pirates host Sleepy Hollow (Sleepy Hollow, NY) to confront the Horsemen in a Section 1 III - C match on Friday, January 4. The Horsemen enter the match with a record of 3-6. Sleepy Hollow lost 43-42 in their recent non-league match against Edgemont (Scarsdale, NY)
