New York High School Basketball - Our Lady of Lourdes falls to Mt. Vernon
(January 3, 2008: Mt. Vernon, NY 10552) Mt. Vernon Knights (Mt. Vernon, NY) followers exited the stadium happy Thursday as they observed their basketball team defeat the visiting Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors (Poughkeepsie, NY), 55-36 in a non-league contest.
The Knights now sport a 7-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Regina for a non-league contest on Monday, January 7. Mt. Vernon will confront a Tigers team coming off a 50-34 non-league win over Hightstown (Hightstown, NJ). The Tigers record now stands at 8-3.
Coming up next, the Warriors confront the Christian Brothers Academy Brothers (Syracuse, NY) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 5. Our Lady of Lourdes will attempt to better on its 2-1 season record. The Brothers enter the contest with a 6-1 record after their 71-46 league win over Chittenango (Chittenango, NY).

| The first qrtr started out close. OLL played hard and strong. MV team offense resulted in 5 players scoring in the qrtr led by Snayce Stewart and Nadia Duncan's six points each. OLL was led by Forzano and Crittendon who were the only players to score with 4 points each. |

| Defensive pressure proved to be the key in the second qrtr. Both team tightened up the defense and the score was only 12-6 MV. Four plyaers scored in this qrtr led by Nadia Duncan and Kwinnyata Mercer who both sored 4. Three players for OLL scored a basket each for their 6 points. |

Third Quarter

| OLL came out real strong in the third qrtr and cut the game lead from 15 to 12. Much was done using a tight defense and all around team offense. Five players scored for OLL in the third qrtr. They were led by Forzano who had 2 threes for six points in the qrtr. MV was again led by Nadia Duncan with 6 points. |

Forth Quarter
|
| The final qrtr was again all MV. Four players scored led by Duncan with 5 points. OLL only scored six points in the qrtr, 2 each from Dweck, Samuda and Crittendon. The final score was 55-36. MV also got good rebounding from Duncan 13 and Stewart with 10. Together they pulled in 16 offensive boards. |
