New York High School Basketball - Tappan Zee holds off Magnus

(December 22, 2007: Bardonia, NY 10954) Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Tappan Zee Dutchmen (Orangeburg, NY) and the host Magnus Falcons (Bardonia, NY), saw Tappan Zee's basketball squad hold off Magnus by a score of 65-62.

With the victory, Tappan Zee improves its record to 6-2 on the campaign. The Dutchmen host Harrison (Harrison, NY) to play the Huskies in a Section 1 II - South challenge on Wednesday, January 9. The Huskies come into the challenge with a record of 3-6. Harrison lost 83-58 in their recent non-league challenge against Our Lady of Lourdes (Poughkeepsie, NY)

Next up, the Falcons play the Nyack Indians (Upper Nyack, NY) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 27. Magnus will attempt to improve on its 3-2 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 58-46 league loss to Spring Valley (Spring Valley, NY).
