New York High School Basketball - Pearl River prevails Nanuet

(January 20, 2008: Pearl River, NY 10965) Pearl River Pirates (Pearl River, NY) backers were in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Nanuet Golden Knights (Nanuet, NY), 63-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pearl River upgrades its record to 12-2 on the season. The Pirates host Sleepy Hollow (Sleepy Hollow, NY) to play the Horsemen in a Section 1 III - C bout on Friday, January 25. The Horsemen come into the challenge with a record of 6-9. Sleepy Hollow lost 67-54 in their recent league challenge against Magnus (Bardonia, NY)

Next up, the Golden Knights battle the Magnus Falcons (Bardonia, NY) in a Section 1 III - C challenge, on Saturday, January 26. Nanuet will attempt to improve on its 7-8 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 8-6 record after their 74-62 non-league win over Tappan Zee (Orangeburg, NY).
