New York High School Basketball - Rye falls to Yonkers

(February 1, 2008: Yonkers, NY 10705) The Yonkers Bulldogs basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting Rye Garnets to 55 in the Bulldogs league triumph on Friday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pelham Memorial for a Section 1 III - B contest on Tuesday, February 5. Yonkers will confront a Pelicans team coming off a 58-39 league win over Edgemont (Scarsdale, NY). The Pelicans record now stands at 10-8.

The Garnets (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Pearl River (Pearl River, NY). The Pirates enter the non-league contest with a 14-2 record. In their last contest, Pearl River ran past Nanuet (Nanuet, NY), 68-56, in a league contest.
