New York High School Basketball - Woodlands holds off Yonkers

(January 16, 2008: Hartsdale, NY 10530) Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Woodlands Falcons (Hartsdale, NY) and the visiting Yonkers Bulldogs (Yonkers, NY), saw Woodlands's basketball squad hold off Yonkers by a count of 74-71.

With the victory, Woodlands upgrades its record to 1-9 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Queens Vo-Tech (Long Island City, NY) to play the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 18. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 9-6. Queens Vo-Tech won 78-70 in their recent league challenge against Wagner (Long Island City, NY)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Ardsley Panthers (Ardsley, NY) in a Section 1 III - B challenge, on Friday, January 18. Yonkers will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 7-4 record after their 58-57 league win over Edgemont (Scarsdale, NY).
