With less than 2 min to play WP held a 1 point lead after a missed free throw by Shanyce Stewart. Stewart fouled Aguirre on the ensuing inbounds pass. Aguirre missed the foul shot... After two time outs MV ran a play and the ball was loose. It was picked up by Taylor Palmer who threw a pass to Mercer under the basket. She was fouled and hit 2 free throws putting MV up by 1. On the following inbound pass... Mercer was called for a foul on Aguirre. Aguirre missed the front end of the one and one opportunity and Duncan grabbed the rebound. The ball was brought up court and became loose again and this time Mercer was fouled. She hit 2 more foul shots, giving MV a 3 point lead. WP went down court and Aguirre missed a 3 point shot.
