(January 19, 2008: Union, NJ 07083) The Union Farmers basketball team (Union, NJ), was nudged 55-51 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Mt. Vernon Knights (Mt. Vernon, NY)

The Knights now sport a 10-2 record. They play next when they travel to Lincoln for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 22. Mt. Vernon will meet a Lancers team coming off a 64-53 non-league win over Clinton (Clinton, NY). The Lancers record now stands at 5-9.

The Farmers (5-3) will now prepare for their battle against Kearny (Kearny, NJ). The Kardinals come into the Watchung - National battle with a 8-3 record. In their last battle, Kearny was nudged by Elizabeth (Elizabeth, NJ), 73-70, in a league battle.
