New York High School Basketball - Mamaroneck overwhelmed by Mt. Vernon

(February 8, 2008: Mamaroneck, NY 10543) The Mt. Vernon Knights basketball team scored 74 points and restricted the host Mamaroneck Tigers to 40 in the Knights league victory on Friday.

The Knights now sport a 16-3 record. They play next when they travel to Roman Catholic for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 9. Mt. Vernon will meet a Cahillite team coming off a 68-38 league win over Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic (Norristown, PA). The Cahillite record now stands at 18-3.

The Tigers (10-10) will now prepare for their contest against Jay (Hopewell Junction, NY). The Patriots come into the non-league contest with a 8-11 record. In their last contest, Jay was routed by Carmel (Carmel, NY), 63-50, in a non-league contest.
