New York High School Basketball - Yonkers prevails Edgemont

(January 8, 2008: Yonkers, NY 10705) Yonkers Bulldogs (Yonkers, NY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Edgemont Panthers (Scarsdale, NY), 59-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Yonkers upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Rye (Rye, NY) to encounter the Garnets in a Section 1 III - B bout on Thursday, January 10. The Garnets go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Rye lost 64-55 in their recent league bout against Eastchester (Eastchester, NY)

Next up, the Panthers encounter the Pelham Memorial Pelicans (Pelham, NY) in a Section 1 III - B bout, on Thursday, January 10. Edgemont will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Pelicans go into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 66-56 league win over Ardsley (Ardsley, NY).
