New York High School Basketball - Poughkeepsie over Panas

(January 17, 2008: Poughkeepsie, NY 12603) Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Poughkeepsie Pioneers (Poughkeepsie, NY) and the visiting Panas Panthers (Cortlandt Manor, NY), witnessed Poughkeepsie's basketball squad top Panas by a margin of 69-50.

The Pioneers (9-2) will now prepare for their test against Newburgh Free Academy (Newburgh, NY). The Goldbacks go into the non-league test with a 8-3 record. In their last test, Newburgh Free Academy topped Middletown (Middletown, NY), 67-60, in a league test.

The Panthers now own a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Beacon for a Section 1 II - North test on Friday, January 25. Panas will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 58-55 league win over Ossining (Ossining, NY). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-10.
