New York High School Basketball - Lakeland edges Panas

(February 2, 2008: Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567) The Lakeland Hornets (Shrub Oak, NY) basketball nipped the host Panas Panthers (Cortlandt Manor, NY), 43-39 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Hornets (13-4) will now prepare for their test against Kennedy Catholic (Somers, NY). The Gaels go into the Section 1 II - Central test with a 11-5 record. In their last test, Kennedy Catholic got by Greeley (Chappaqua, NY), 64-48, in a league test.

The Panthers now own a 9-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ossining for a Section 1 II - North test on Monday, February 4. Panas will clash with a squad coming off a 74-53 league loss to Peekskill (Peekskill, NY). The record now stands at 6-12.
