New York High School Basketball - Dover falls to Poughkeepsie

(January 12, 2008: Poughkeepsie, NY 12603) Poughkeepsie Pioneers (Poughkeepsie, NY) followers exited the stadium happy Saturday as they observed their basketball team defeat the visiting Dover Dragons (Dover Plains, NY), 53-40 in a non-league contest.

The Pioneers now sport a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Peekskill for a Section 1 II - North contest on Tuesday, January 15. Poughkeepsie will meet a Red Devils team coming off a 61-55 league win over Panas (Cortlandt Manor, NY). The Red Devils record now stands at 6-6.

Coming up next, the Dragons meet the North Salem Tigers (North Salem, NY) in a Section 1 IV - C contest, on Monday, January 14. Dover will attempt to better on its 6-5 season record. The Tigers enter the contest with a 6-2 record after their 47-35 non-league loss to Hamilton (Elmsford, NY).
