New York High School Basketball - Beacon trounces Poughkeepsie

(January 9, 2008: Poughkeepsie, NY 12603) The Beacon Bulldogs (Beacon, NY) basketball crushed the host Poughkeepsie Pioneers (Poughkeepsie, NY), 70-35 in Wednesday's league test.

The Bulldogs (11-1) will now prepare for their test against Peekskill (Peekskill, NY). The Red Devils go into the Section 1 II - North test with a 5-5 record. In their last match, Peekskill crushed Hudson (Montrose, NY), 49-40, in a league match.

With the defeat, Poughkeepsie moves to 4-7 on the year. The Pioneers host Dover (Dover Plains, NY) to confront the Dragons in a non-league match on Saturday, January 12. The Dragons enter the match with a record of 5-2. Dover won 51-30 in their recent non-league match against Schechter (Hartsdale, NY)
