New York High School Basketball - Suffern edges Pearl River

(December 22, 2007: Pearl River, NY 10965) The Suffern Mounties (Suffern, NY) basketball nipped the host Pearl River Pirates (Pearl River, NY), 58-56 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Mounties (6-2) will now prepare for their test against Mamaroneck (Mamaroneck, NY). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 6-1 record. In their last test, Mamaroneck got by Hamilton (Elmsford, NY), 61-46, in a non-league test.

The Pirates now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Nanuet for a Section 1 III - C test on Saturday, December 29. Pearl River will clash with a Golden Knights squad coming off a 88-81 non-league loss to North Salem (North Salem, NY). The Golden Knights record now stands at 5-3.
