New York High School Volleyball - Lakeland over Putnam Valley

(September 24, 2008: Putnam Valley, NY 10579) The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Lakeland Hornets (Shrub Oak, NY) and the host Putnam Valley Tigers (Putnam Valley, NY), saw Lakeland's volleyball squad beat Putnam Valley by a tally of 3-0.

With the win, Lakeland upgrades its record to 9-1 on the year. The Hornets travel to Yorktown (Yorktown Heights, NY) to play the Huskers in a Section 1 Class A - League B bout on Thursday, October 2. The Huskers go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Yorktown won 3-0 in their recent league bout against Greeley (Chappaqua, NY)

The Tigers now own a 3-4 record. They play next when they host Croton-Harmon for a Section 1 Class B - League A bout on Friday, September 26. Putnam Valley will play a Tigers squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Pleasantville (Pleasantville, NY). The Tigers record now stands at 5-2.
