North Carolina High School Basketball - South Johnston holds off Triton
(January 29, 2008: Four Oaks, NC 27524) South Johnston Trojans (Four Oaks, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC), 55-52 in a league bout.
With the win, South Johnston upgrades its record to 3-7 on the season. The Trojans host Southern Lee (Sanford, NC) to play the Cavaliers in a Cape Fear Valley bout on Friday, February 1. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a record of 14-3. Southern Lee won 81-72 in their recent league bout against Union Pines (Cameron, NC)
Next up, the Hawks play the Grays Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC) in a Cape Fear Valley bout, on Wednesday, January 30. Triton will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 7-11 record after their 89-77 league loss to Overhills (Spring Lake, NC).
