Kansas High School Basketball - Trego holds off Wheatland-Grinnell
(December 18, 2007: WaKeeney, KS 67672) Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Trego Golden Eagles (WaKeeney, KS) and the visiting Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks (Grainfield, KS), witnessed Trego's basketball squad tip Wheatland-Grinnell by a margin of 52-50.
The Golden Eagles (3-0) will now prepare for their test against Plainville (Plainville, KS). The Cardinals go into the Mid-Continent test with a 1-3 record. In their last test, Plainville was tipped by Western Plains (Ransom, KS), 63-61, in a non-league test.
The Thunderhawks now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wallace County for a Western Kansas Liberty test on Friday, January 4.
