Louisiana High School Basketball - Port Allen thwarts Mamou

(February 8, 2008: Mamou, LA 70554) The Port Allen Pelicans (Port Allen, LA) basketball felled the host Mamou Demons (Mamou, LA), 69-59 in Friday's non-league test.

The Pelicans (29-3) will now prepare for their test against St. Charles Catholic (LaPlace, LA). The Comets go into the 3A District 9 test with a 14-15 record. In their last test, St. Charles Catholic defeated Brusly (Brusly, LA), 44-23, in a league test.

The Demons now own a 15-13 record. They take the field next when they host Ville Platte for a 2A District 6 test on Friday, February 15. Mamou will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 74-67 league win over Port Barre (Port Barre, LA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 24-5.
