New Jersey High School Basketball - Hopewell Valley Central holds off Montgomery

(January 5, 2008: Skillman, NJ 08559) Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Hopewell Valley Central Bulldogs (Pennington, NJ) and the host Montgomery Cougars (Skillman, NJ), saw Hopewell Valley Central's basketball squad hold off Montgomery by a score of 65-63.

With the victory, Hopewell Valley Central improves its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Hightstown (Hightstown, NJ) to play the Rams in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 8. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 3-5. Hightstown lost 35-33 in their recent league challenge against West Windsor-Plainsboro South (Princeton Junction, NJ)

Next up, the Cougars play the Franklin Warriors (Somerset, NJ) in a Skyland - Delaware East challenge, on Tuesday, January 8. Montgomery will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 1-6 record after their 63-61 non-league loss to Warren Hills Regional (Washington, NJ).
