Louisiana High School Basketball - Block holds off St. Mary
(January 8, 2008: Natchitoches, LA 71457) Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Block Bears (Jonesville, LA) and the host St. Mary Tigers (Natchitoches, LA), saw Block's basketball squad hold off St. Mary by a score of 47-43.
With the victory, Block improves its record to 2-11 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Northwood (Lena, LA) to play the Gators in a 1A District 3 challenge on Friday, January 11. The Gators come into the challenge with a record of 6-11. Northwood won 49-42 in their recent league challenge against Montgomery (Montgomery, LA)
Next up, the Tigers play the Winnfield Tigers (Winnfield, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 11. St. Mary will attempt to improve on its 2-16 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 67-53 non-league loss to Atlanta (Atlanta, LA).
