Illinois High School Basketball - De La Salle holds off Fenwick
(February 14, 2008: Chicago, IL 60616) De La Salle Meteors (Chicago, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Fenwick Friars (Oak Park, IL), 56-50 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, De La Salle upgrades its record to 20-3 on the campaign. The Meteors host Guerin College Prep (River Grove, IL) to play the Gators in a non-league bout on Friday, February 15. The Gators come into the bout with a record of 10-12. Guerin College Prep lost 69-43 in their recent league test against St. Ignatius (Chicago, IL)
The Friars now own a 17-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bishop McNamara for a non-league test on Friday, February 15. Fenwick will clash with a Fightin' Irish squad coming off a 37-36 non-league loss to Donovan (Donovan, IL). The Fightin' Irish record now stands at 6-14.
