Illinois High School Basketball - Marshall edges Batavia
(January 19, 2008: Chicago, IL 60624) The Marshall Commandos (Chicago, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Batavia Bulldogs (Batavia, IL), 56-55 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Commandos (16-3) will now prepare for their test against Vincent (Milwaukee, WI). The Vikings go into the non-league test with a 9-4 record. In their last test, Vincent was tipped by Ashwaubenon (Green Bay, WI), 51-48, in a non-league test.
The Bulldogs now own a 15-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to DeKalb for a Western Sun test on Saturday, January 26. Batavia will clash with a Barbs squad coming off a 47-24 league win over Kaneland (Maple Park, IL). The Barbs record now stands at 8-9.
