Illinois High School Basketball - Leo can't hold off Hales Franciscan
(February 12, 2008: Chicago, IL 60615) The Hales Franciscan Spartans basketball team scored 77 points and held the visiting Leo Lions to 72 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Spartans now sport a 22-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Brother Rice for a Chicago Catholic - South contest on Wednesday, February 13. Hales Franciscan will meet a Crusaders team coming off a 72-70 non-league win over Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL). The Crusaders record now stands at 17-9.
The Lions (15-7) will now prepare for their contest against Seton Academy (South Holland, IL). The Sting enter the non-league contest with a 12-13 record. In their last contest, Seton Academy was nudged by Guerin College Prep (River Grove, IL), 68-60, in a non-league contest.
