Illinois High School Basketball - Von Steuben holds off De La Salle
(December 8, 2007: Chicago, IL 60624) Von Steuben Panthers (Chicago, IL) supporters were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting De La Salle Meteors (Chicago, IL), 61-59 in a non-league challenge.
With the victory, Von Steuben improves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Bloomington (Bloomington, IL) to battle the Purple Raiders in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 15. The Purple Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 5-2.
Next up, the Meteors battle the Fenwick Friars (Oak Park, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 14. De La Salle will attempt to improve on its 7-1 season record. The Friars come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 57-50 non-league win over Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL).
