Illinois High School Basketball - Lockport prevails Thornwood
(December 18, 2007: Lockport, IL 60441) Lockport Porters (Lockport, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL), 83-72 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Lockport upgrades its record to 7-0 on the season. The Porters host Lincoln-Way Central (New Lenox, IL) to play the Knights in a SouthWest Suburban bout on Saturday, December 22. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 3-6. Lincoln-Way Central lost 68-46 in their recent league bout against Homewood-Flossmoor (Flossmoor, IL)
Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Willowbrook Warriors (Villa Park, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 5. Thornwood will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 6-2 record after their 79-65 league win over Proviso East (Maywood, IL).
