For a first year Tennis Player Arthur Claiborne has dominated. Each opponent that he has faced, he has won decisively. His wins against East Duplin(6-1,6-1) and Spring Creek(6-0,6-2). HE is looking to have a good conference season and make a run with his doubles partner Joshua Bryant.
Arthur Claiborne, a first year tennis player, came through in the clutch again today against Ayden-Grifton High School. He came out on the winning side of a grueling singles match against AG's, Will Allen, playing a tie breaker in each of the first two sets and eventually winning in the third set tie breaker (10,8). In doubles it must be said that Claiborne and his doubles partner Joshua Bryant were on a mission. Knowing that the team had to win at least two of the doubles matches to take the over all match, Claiborne and Bryant showed true grit and tenacity by coming from behind to defeat AG's, Tyler Johnson and Ricky Johnson, two great athletes. With continued improvement to his game and a constant must win attitude, Claiborne is making the most of his first, and last tennis season.
After missing the Goldsboro Match, where Kinston lost their undefeated season, Claiborne came back on a mission. He dominated at #6 singles, winning (6-2), (6-3) against the same opponent that he had struggled against in the previous match against North Lenoir. Then in doubles, he and his partner Josh Bryant, dominated, winning (8-0).
