Kyra was selected OC Varsity player of the week after leading the Diablos to at least a share of the Seaview League title.(http://www.ocvarsity.com/articles/hills-23297-week-finished.html)
Kyra Goodman had an outstanding week setting and helped serve the Diablos into the Capo Valley Tourney semi-finals.
Kyra contributed 136 assists in the 3 rounds of CIF playoffs during this weeks competition before losing in the quarter finals.
Kyra has been the MVHS starting setter for 3 years leading her team this year to the CIF quarter finals. She continues to improve as a setter and team leader and is looking forward to an even more successful senior year.
Kyra has led the Diablos to a season opening 3 victories with outstanding setting and team leadership.
Kyra had two outstanding matches this week to help lead the Diablos to victories which evened their league record to 2-2 for the first round of play.
Kyra hit .444 with 9 kills while adding 26 assists and 6 digs for an all around effort in the match with Dana Hills High School.
Kyra hit .583, with 46 assists and 14 digs to pace the Diablos to a win in their final league match of the 2012 season.
Kyra led all hitters with a .451 percentage while adding 30 assists to the Diablo effort.
Kyra exemplifies the energy, intellect, commitment and character all coaches find essential when selecting an award to honor the player of the year. From the beginning of her freshman year until the end of her senior season, Kyra has been the leader her team mates looked to for inspiration, direction and performance for each years campaign. It is with pride and enthusiasm that Mission Viejo Girl's Volleyball recognizes Kyra Goodman as the 2012 Player of the Year.
