Congratulations to #3 T.J. Collett who was selected as the Player of the Game.
Sophomore T.J. Collett went 4-for-4 with two doubles and 4 RBI in leading the Patriots to a game two win and a sweep of the Warren Central Warriors at Warren Central HS. The win was the fourth straight fir the Patriots and brought their overall record up to 7-3 on the season.
Sophomore catcher T.J. Collett managed to reach base 3 of the 4 times he went up to the plate - walking once, being intentionally walked another time, and hitting a solo home run (his first of the season). Additionally, Collett caught a near flawless game behind the plate allowing no HSE runners to steal a base. Seemingly picking up from where the honorable mention all-stater left off last season, T.J. proved once again why he is a force to reckon with in IHSAA baseball.
Sophomore T.J. Collett went 3-for-3 at the plate with two home runs and four runs batted in. The Patriots collected 16 hits in picking up the 15-0 road victory. The home runs were his sixth and seventh on the season. Seniors Jonathan Eilbracht and Nathan Will also hit home runs for Terre Haute North. Great game for the Patriots as juniors Cody Maloon and Chase Jones combined to throw a one hit shutout and the Patriot defenders played error-free baseball.
In a game that the Patriots had to have to take home the Big Four Tourney title, sophomore T.J. Collett went 3-for-3 with a single, a double, a solo HR, and two walks to lead the offensive attack. The home run was T.J.'s 14th of the season setting the school record for home runs in a season. It was the 23rd home run in just 51 varsity games hit by the University of Kentucky-bound Collett. Great accomplishment made by a better young man! This was a total team win as TH North collected 17 hits on the evening but the record-setting performance of the team's catcher deserves special mention on this occasion.
Sophomore Catcher T.J. Collett went 2-for-2 with an RBI triple, a 2-Run HR, and 2 walks in addition to throwing out the only runner who attempted to steal on the evening while being selected as the Patriot Player of the Game. The second-inning home run was Collett's second on the season and 11th of his 34 game career as a Patriot.
Sophomore T.J. Collett went 1-for-2 with a 2-run HR (3rd of the season) and two walks in leading the Patriots at the plate.
In the final game of the Joe Heath Classic for the Terre Haute North Patriots, sophomore T.J. Collett proved once again why he is being touted as the best hitting prospect in the country from the Class of 2016. Collett picked up three hits in four at-bats versus the Harrison Raiders at McCutcheon HS in the Patriots 9-4 victory. Included within T.J.'s hits were a single, a double, and a grand slam home run as well as 5 RBI. The home run was T.J.'s fifth of the season in the Patriots' first seven games. Way to go, Lil Feller!
Ok, so the beginning to this guy's high school career has only been so-so. If being placed in the 3-hole as a highly regarded freshman wasn't enough of a pressure point, he's played absolutely fantastic in his first six games yet hasn't been selected as the Patriot Player of the Game yet...until now. T.J. managed to hit two HRs versus the Raiders of Harrison (West Lafayette) HS and collect 4 RBI in the 7-3 win for Terre Haute North in the third game of the prestigious Joe Heath Classic. The homers were the fourth and fifth HRs on the season for Prep Baseball Report's Top Player in the Class of 2016 for the state of Indiana. Great job, T.J.! Keep up the good work!
T.J. has been selected to the Baseball recruiting - Top 50 Baseball Sophomores - Class of 2016. Congratulations T.J.!
