Lemming Notes: I don't think there is any question that C.J. should rank as the nation's #1 TE prospect. After all, in person he looks like he belongs in the NFL but he also backs that up with great production on the field. On Film–He was split out an awful lot the last couple of years allowing Johnsburg to take advantage of mismatches. He was used all over the field last year at QB, WR, TE, DE, ILB, and FS. No matter where he was he dominated that position. Not yet the difference maker that he will become at TE because his blocking skills need to be honed, but believe me, this guy can catch and he knows what to do with the ball after the catch. He is a unique talent who was born to play the TE position. If he goes to a school that will utilize his talents he should become a college All American and have a pretty good career in the NFL. He is a great all-around athlete who is also a standout in track and basketball. A Jason Whitten type of TE, he shows remarkable hands, comes out of his stance with quickness and burst, and is almost impossible to jam, even when flexed out. He is also able to maintain separation once he gets off the line because of his great speed. He was timed in a 4.5 40 at a couple of camps this spring. Stats–Completed 35 of 50 passes for 350 yds and 2 TDs at QB. He caught 49 passes for 809 yds and 11 TDs after totaling 67 catches for 1,089 yds and 14 TDs in '07. He had 35 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 caused fumbles, and 2 picks at ILB. He returned one of the picks back for 70 yds and a score. An elite athlete and a difference maker, he should become an impact player as soon as he steps on to the college campus. Other Sports–He has been timed in an 11.3 100 and 22.4 200 meters in track. In basketball he averages 22 pts and 20 rebounds a game as an SFW. Grades–His GPA is 2.8 and he scored a 25 on the ACT. Benches 365 and has a 35" VJ. Favorite Schools–Committed to Iowa.
