Lindsey Hunter played a prominent role for the
Southfield Christian (Mich.) boys basketball team this season.
That's because a Lindsey Hunter was listed three times – yes, three – on the team roster, and it couldn't have worked out better for the Eagles. They won the Class D state championship and finished with a 24-2 record.
While the engraver who will put the finishing touches on the championship trophy might do a double and triple take when it comes to Lindsey Hunter, it will not be an error.
As reported by
MLive.com, the Eagles had Lindsey Hunter Jr., the son of former the longtime NBA player, on the bench as an assistant coach and his sons
Lindsey Hunter III and
Lindsey Hunter IV as players. The championship truly was a family affair as Hunter III, a senior, scored 15 points, while Hunter IV, a sophomore, added eight points.
"Just playing with my dad on the side, him getting on me whenever I mess up when I know there are certain things I should have done, and celebrating with me and having my dad and my little brother along for the ride is one of the greatest things ever," Hunter III told the website. "I'm very blessed."
