Andrew Wiggins, a native of Canada who plays for
Huntington Prep (Huntington, W. Va.), paced the World team with 20 points. Wang Zhelin, a 7-footer from China, was close behind with 19 points and also grabbed eight rebounds. Another double-figure scorer was 6-9 Dario Saric of Croatia with 13 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Shabazz Muhammad of
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) set a Hoop Summit record with 35 points for the USA team, but had little help. His only teammate in double figures was
Kyle Anderson of
St. Anthony (Jersey City, N.J.), who had 12 points to go with 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
The World team, which once led by 18 points, let the USA take a brief one-point lead late in the fourth period, but finished well thanks to an amazing high-arching NBA 3-point basket by another native of Canada,
Anthony Bennett of
Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.). The World outrebounded USA by a commanding 57-34 margin.
