Robert NkemdicheWhile Clemson works to retain a commitment from the nation's No. 1 defensive end (and No. 1 recruit overall) from the class of 2013,
, the Tigers appear to be in great shape early on with 2015 defensive end Darian Roseboro
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Roseboro, a candidate for National Sophomore of the Year honors
, told MaxPreps he intends to check out Clemson this weekend when the Tigers host Virginia Tech.
According to Lincolnton (N.C.)
head coach Scott Cloninger, Roseboro grew up rooting for Clemson.
"I really think Clemson is one of his childhood favorites," Cloninger told MaxPreps.
So far, Roseboro has offers from Duke and North Carolina, but he's also hearing from Ohio State and Alabama, among others.
According to Cloninger, "Clemson is hot on his trail."
It's easy to see why Roseboro is shaping up to be one of the most hotly-recruited players in the class of 2015
Even with his massive frame, Roseboro still clocks in at the 4.6 range in the 40-yard dash.
As a freshman last fall, he registered 107 tackles and seven sacks in helping lead Lincolnton to the NCHSAA state title game, where he went toe-to-toe with current Georgia freshman phenom Todd Gurley.
This fall, Roseboro already has seven sacks to go along with 70 tackles. He's also forced and recovered four fumbles in addition to seeing action at fullback and tight end on offense.
