Tyrone SwoopesThe first four games of the football season have been rough on
and, therefore, rough on his team, Whitewright (Texas)
Ranked as the No. 4 player in the nation by MaxPreps, the 6-foot-5, 220-pound senior pulled a hamstring in the second game of the season. He re-aggravated it last week.
Team spokesman J.D. Henderson told MaxPreps this morning that Swoopes did not play during Friday night's 35-6 loss to Callisburg (Gainesville, Texas), which dropped the Tigers' record to 0-4.
It appears that rest is the only solution for the young star, who has committed to the University of Texas. In parts of three games, Swoopes has thrown for 555 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 460 yards and six scores.
