The girls have been lighting it up the basketball scoreboards this week, especially eighth-grade sensation Sydney Zambrotta, of
Upper Room Christian (Dix Hills, N.Y.).
Zambrotta scored 58 points on Thursday to pace her team to a 66-26 rout of Our Savior New American (Centereach, N.Y.).
Then
on Friday she scored 48 points - including two clinching free throws
with 13 seconds left - during a 52-49 victory over Waldorf (Garden City,

Earlier in the year she had games of 51 and 45 points and she now is averaging 44 per outing.
*

West Morgan (Trinity, Ala.), scored 41 points Friday night during an 80-41 rout of Elkmont (Ala.).
Hamby, who played varsity basketball as an eighth grader, now has a career total of 4,125 points and continues to climb the all-time national charts.
